  • Video editing software help!!

got a fair few vids taken with a Samsung VC and uploaded to my laptop,
the files are .mp4 and vary in length from 1gb to 1.6gb

now i wish to post these to my photobucket account to enable others to view but the maximum length allowed is 500mb meaning i need to edit the vids down to manageble clip size!

can anyone recommend a free video editing software programm i could use ?

    my media player is VLC

    thanks

i know photobubket accepts avi files so just a thought that you could convert the files to avi .

heres a very good site for free programs http://download.cnet.com/Pazera-Free...-10784027.html

i personally use win avi convertor along with other various programs but tbh if your new to this it`ll be a bit confusing

its not so much converting them as shortening them, get rid of the unwanted footage

                    ignore my last post .

i use nero for owt like this , lets you chop bits of vidoe out , i know theres 100`s or programs out there that do the same but i found nero simple as i`ve used it for years .

again this is a good site for free software http://download.cnet.com/windows/vid...ting-software/

a propper software package is adobe software master collection cs5 i think is the newest version. I have version cs3. I used the adobe software packages at univeristy when i studied multimedia. You can use adobe premire to edit and cut up your videos and then use adobe after effects to creat effects and cool title scenes but it really does take some learning. Its what the pros use.

Why, are you wanting to limit who can view them?

Premier is what I also use for video editing. It's a really good bit of software.
