  • Tyre Size - Rolling Radius Help?!?!

    Standard = 195 40 17
    I currently have = 205 40 17 - i fitted wider tyred for rim protection?

    Does that mean the rolling radius is different?

    Anyway i want 16's.

    So do i need

    195 45 16 OR 205 45 16 ???

    205 45 16 will give you a very close match to your standard tyres - +0.51%/3mm difference

    195 45 16 gives you a -1.02/6mm difference so you can fit either really as they reccomend +/- 2.5% to keep speedo/ride height etc correct

      You have the same rolling radius on the top two options i.e. R17 with a 40 profile but the footprint of the 205 tyre is wider

      The two rolling radius you quote for the 16s are the same too, the width of tyre will depend on the rim you choose.

        so both 17 and 16 width would be 7J .. so the 205 means bugger all in terms of rolling radius yeah?
