Ive got a light fitting that's been accidentally knocked and the light wont come on and the brown wire inside has come lose and have absolutely no idea where it goes back in
If I knew I would attach it back in obviously with the power off.
I probably need to post up a picture of the exact wiring as it stands.

Brown should go to the red in the ceiling, is there only one red cable or 2 ?

Not necessarily - RED is usually used for common

yep, sorry but a brown wire not in dont help. ! Ok I`m a plasterer but your light could be a switched live, ring or 3 way.? so not sure whether its part of a circuit or switched circuit?
Me , I`d wait till mornin and play with it live, whats the worst it could do. trip the circuit breaker. !

Dependant on age of structure and NIC/EIC regs at the time of the build it will differ.

Matt what colour cables can you see beyond the fixing point of the fitting ?

That pendant should not have 2 brown wires on it lol

But the cable needs to go into the block with the Blue Black cables

So it goes into the block on the left. So it would be Blue Black Brown from left to right.
