  • The boys in blue have been VXR'd

We might have trouble out running the boys in blue, west yorkshire police have now got 12 Vectra VXR's.

They always have to spoil our fun!!

    Are they unmarked?

Yes but there is no way of telling what power the engine is doing!! There's no reason a VXR map could not have been applied to the engine. Often the police spec cars have the mechanics but not the trim.

I was referring to the description use on ebay...

The big clues are ecotec engine cover and as Moschops stated chrome grill.

I always thought the Police tried to keep most cars standard so that the resale value was more hence the change to standard colours like silver these days.

Usually things like brakes/suspension are upgraded/raised. So a remap may have been applied...but how come they get the 280ps and us lowly 255ps owners don't....

It aint a VXR engine, it is soiled and its style is different. Police may upgrade brakes but certainly not engines, a job car wont be re mapped. If they want a faster they would buy one. Its a dodgy auction.

Whether it is a dodgy ebay post or not, its still the 2.8 turbo dont look any different to mine., well apart from a bit of dirt..........

What makes people think the hard mechanics are different to the VXR engine?.
