  • help fitting alpine hu

    where do i connect the red acc wire what comes out of unit ?
    i know nowt about electrics so need realy simple instructions

    Not 100% but thinking back the red the wire is the steering wheel controls wire. Do you have a connects 2 adaptor?

      In any case i'd check the wiring diagram that came with the unit should hold the answer.

        had a look at diagram and it needs connecting but where ? it`ll be so simple i guess but i`m not sure and don`t want to fooook it up.

            Think that wire need to have a constant +ve feed. i.e. from the fag lighter.

                  If you have to run a live feed just wire it so it only starts up on ignition. If you've got the right adaptor i'm pretty sure you don't need to run a live feed.

                      been told to find the ignition live wire behind glove box , gunna have a go tomorrow at finding this myself ,

                          mate, on the fag lighter there should a spear wire tapped up that isn't used which is constant live.. I went to halford to get mine sorted as I had the same problem.

                          which HU do you have?

                            i`ve wired it up to a constant live and was told two diferent things ,
                            1 that its ok to wire upto constant live aslong as you turn it off but someone said it should be ignition only live ,

                              erm, im not to sure then.. I just know one of the wires around the fag litter is ignition live because thats where I wired my gauges into and thats where the bloke a halfords wired into..
