  • Problem Solved: Controlling Ipod while driving

So any of you with the aux socket in your car who like to plug in an iPod to listen to your tunes, are no doubt aware that it can, most of the time, be impossible to pause, skip tracks, turn the volume up/down safely.. so i had a look around and found this nice bit of kit that allows me to control me iPod remotely, but with that essential added extra of actually looking good in the car and easily removable, so you can take it out with you, in case of thieving scum...

Anyhow pictures paint a thousand words....

Attached to car in my preferred place:

IPod plugged in to aux port:

    Remote receiver plugged into iPod:

    Removed from car:

    Unit ready to stow/take away:

With the receiver attached to bottom, so i don’t lose it

It works very very well, its in piano black so suits the interior of my car too!
i am using heavy duty velcro to attach it to the car and also on the sender/receiver to stow together...

So what this piece of kit called i hear you shout: Monster iEZClick
You can by it in the UK, but its always £40+, which in my eyes is way too steep.
So i found this seller in the USA... who can deliver it for less than £23 (with exchange rate mine was £22.76). nice.
    Here he/it is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=310097736791

I am well happy, i can control my iPod without hassle now.

NOTE: this doesn't in any way allow you to view your ipod controls on your oem screen, its just a way of controlling it without picking it up...

    Enjoy.

So what can you do with it then?

Change tracks I assume but can you change albums (thinking of getting one)?

        Great find

Here's the run down on its functionality:

            Power Ipod On/Off, Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Next/Previous Track, Fast Foward/Rewind Track, Skip to Next/Previous Playlist, Hold/Disable keys.

So to answer your question no you cant select album but you can skip onto a new playlist.

            Cheers,

Do the controls wrap around the steering wheels

yeah, just stick the ipod on shuffle and then you just control it via some buttons that you put on the wheel
