  • Heres a puzzler about tyres!

OK I am so confused - I have purchased some Good Year Eagle F1's for my VXR, and I opted for the more expensive Asymmetric tyres, for those that have not heard of them (as I had not) they are made up of 2 halfs, 1 half grips the road and the other deals with the water on the road.
    http://eu.goodyear.com/uk_en/tires/r...F1AS/index.jsp

Both tyres (which are on the front) have the writing which clearly says this side outwards on it. The bit that I am confused about is that the passenger side tyre looks right with then outer tread facing downwards as if to collect water and push it out, however when I look at the drivers side this part looks upside down and does not look like its going to do the job it was designed for.

Have a look at the picture and see what you guys think?

Anybody else got these type of tyre or dealt with before?

In general, something is asymmetric if it is not symmetric!
    I see dumb people.......
    .....they're everywhere
.....they walk around like everyone else
.....they don't even know they're dumb

I reckon the corners of the bumper were caught on kerbs or the like

Superdave, I have the same tyres fitted to my Vectra now and I've not had a problem with the tread patterns affecting performance, they stick well in the wet and even better in the dry
