  • VXR Course cars

Quoted from HPm (from the Vauxhall Sports Car Club)
Visitor to the first round of this year’s BTCC at Brands Hatch saw two special VXRs taking to the track.
The British Racing Drivers’ Club - the body that runs marshalling at the BTCC – have borrowed a Monaro VXR and a Vectra Estate VXR to use as course cars throughout this year’s BTCC.
Both cars are almost standard, except the Vectra has a Milltek VXR exhaust system (on public sale soon) and the Monaro has a Wortec track-use-only exhaust system. Vauxhall reckon the Wortec system releases an extra 20 bhp from the car’s mighty engine.
Interestingly the BTCC rules stipulate that the make of course cars that run during the actual race cannot be the same as any car that is taking part – so Vauxhall’s course cars can only take to the circuit in the build up and after the race.
